Robert T. Munson, of East Orleans, passed away on March 15, 2015 at Cape Cod Hospital. He was born in 1934 in Portland, Maine to Anna and Walter Munson.

He graduated from Deering HS and the University of Maine where he received a BS degree in mechanical engineering. Later he received an MBA from the University of Hartford. While at Maine he was a member of PhiKappa Sigma fraternity, Tau Beta Pi and Scabbard, and Blade honorary societies. He was also a member of the Orleans Yacht Club and was Clerk of the Nauset Heights Association.

In 1959 he began a 33-year career with Pratt and Whitney Aircraft, division of United Technologies working in both the commercial engine division in East Hartford, CT., and the military engine division in West Palm Beach, Florida. Starting as a test engineer he served in a variety of positions ending his career as Vice President, Customer Support Military Engines.

Bob and his family have been summer residents of East Orleans since 1972 and in 2011 became permanent residents. He leaves his wife, Nancy, daughter Debbie Munson and son in law Andrew Schroeder of Dorchester, son Steven and wife Catherine of Alexandria, VA, and two grandchildren, Sara and Tyler of Alexandria. Also nephews Dean, and wife Alicia, with Cody and Samantha Munson of South Portland, Maine, and Charles Munson of Gorham Maine.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on April 18, 11 AM, at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Orleans.
