Nauset Heights Fun Run
The Fun Run on July 4th is an event for all Nauset Heights residents and their guests. Since 2009 NausetHeights.org has been hosting this social event for all members of the community. It’s a healthy activity that showcases the true beauty of “The Heights” and brings friends and neighbors together.
The walk/run event starts at the Priscilla Beach parking lot and takes participants on a scenic, “back-roads” tour of Nauset Heights for approximately 2.2 miles, finishing back at Priscilla Beach. The course is challenging with steep hills and tricky footing in some areas, but the views are spectacular. There is also a short version of the course for kids 8 and under.
Medallions are awarded to all participants at the finish. The overall male and female finishers with the fastest times are awarded the coveted Nauset Cup. The race is lead by the Orleans Police motorcycle detail and a number of antique Willy’s Jeeps. Spectators line the course and cheer, and spray water with garden hoses.
A contribution of $10 per individual is recommended. All proceeds are donated to charities.
