Nauset Heights Association hosts the annual Sand Sculpture Contest on Nauset Inlet near the base of the Association stairs. All ages welcome. Open to Nauset Heights residents, renters and house guests. No advance registration -- sign up on site the day of the event. Create a castle or any other kind of sculpture. Enter as individuals or groups. Please bring your own buckets, shovels, etc. We highly encourage everyone to use natural materials found on the beach.

Come join us for this two day event. Nauset Heights has enjoyed tennis tournaments from as long ago as 1922. Whether beginner or not, join the fun and play in events. Tournaments will be open to all residents and house guests. Matches will be held on various courts around the Heights. Come cheer on your favorite team at the finals, to be held at the Tyngs’ court at 13 Standish Road. Register here.

Janet Bush, NHA member, will offer an informal walk and talk on the horseshoe crabs of Nauset Spit that, at 500 million years old, are one of the most ancient creatures on earth. Janet is a long-time Horseshoe Crab Volunteer for Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. She will demonstrate how Audubon does spawning surveys and monitors the numbers of horseshoe crabs in Nauset Cove, and elsewhere on the Outer Cape, and will discuss their spawning habits, their current medical use, and the threats they face today.

You may return your collected trash to the starting point and we will dispose of it for you. Don't forget your gloves. Long tongs - such as grill tongs - are also a great asset!

Founder of the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy, Cynthia will bring us up-to-date on the burgeoning shark population along Nauset Beach, and the efforts of the Town and Seashore to provide for the public’s safety. The July Meeting will also provide a last chance to purchase the few remaining unsold copies of the Nauset Heights History Book, the Nauset Heights Aerial Photo, and the Nauset Heights Centennial Apron. We look forward to seeing you at the meeting. Don't forget your lawn chair.
