DESCRIPTION:Building dates: July 17 – July 25Exhibition goes live: July 26th  \nIt’s the summer of reimagining our community events. No group event this year\, but you can still gather your squad to hit the beach and create your masterpiece to share with everyone in the Heights through our virtual Sand Sculpture Exhibition.  \nHere’s what to do.  \n1. Register your entry by clicking here or on the button below. All registrants will get a placard stake and NHA bucket with marker and freeze pops (after all\, a cool popsicle after the work is part of our tradition). Once registered\, you’ll receive instructions on contactless pickup. \n2. Pick up your NHA bucket and placard stake. \n3. Gather your squad\, your own shovels and other tools of the trade\, and head to the beach between now and July 25th. We’ve held the event at Nauset Inlet and find the sand there is best\, but you’re welcome to go where ever you like. \n4. Get your creative juices flowing and build your dream castle\, sculpture\, or whatever. We highly encourage you to use natural materials found on the beach. \n5. Write your squad’s name and the name of your creation on your placard and stake it next to your sculpture. \n6. Take pictures of both the sculpture by itself and of your group behind it. \n7. Upload your photos to the NHA site so they can be included in the Exhibition Gallery. We’ll curate entries from past years in there as well.

DESCRIPTION:Instead of a formal Tennis Tournament\, this year we will have a new round robin Tennis Outing\, where everyone gets to play at least several matches. The Outing will be for Doubles Teams only\, and open to all Nauset Heights residents\, their extended families\, and house guests.\nDoubles Teams will be split into two Groups – the Red and Green Teams – and you will have the opportunity to play against every other team in your Group. The Doubles Team with the best record in each Group will then play a Finals Match at the end of the Outing. All round robin Matches will be a ten-game pro set\, with a seven point tie-breaker if necessary. The Finals Match between the two Groups will be the best of two sets\, with a ten-point tie-breaker if needed. \nPlayers of all levels are welcome. Doubles Teams can be Mixed\, Women’s\, or Parent/Child. If you don’t have a partner\, please sign up and we will find you a partner. Depending upon the number of Doubles Teams we have\, the Outing will conclude on Sat\, Aug 14\, or continue on Sun\, Aug 15.

DESCRIPTION:IS OUR DRINKING WATER IN GOOD HEALTH? \nOn Saturday\, June 18\, 2022\, the NHA Environmental Committee will host a program by Susan Brown\, Assistant Superintendent\, Orleans Water Department\, who will speak with members about the quality and safety of our town’s public drinking water. \nFor decades\, Orleans residents have taken their water for granted and in fact\, it has received several state-wide awards for its quality. However\, In the last few years\, Cape Cod towns like Chatham and Barnstable\, had to take action when their public drinking water was found to be contaminated by polyfluoroalkyl substances\, commonly known as PFAS. \nPFAS are toxic “forever’ chemicals” that persist in the environment and have been linked to cancer and other health problems.
